@Сергей С Ну вот сегодня он вернулся, сделал 1+1 и добил Филадельфию. А вообще без хороших центров на дистанции тянуть команду нереально.

Тоже верно, но всё-таки больше надо брать на себя инициативы и проявлять индивидуальное мастерство. Я к нему оч хорошо отношусь, болею за него именно. Хочу чтобы он взбодрился)))

@Сергей С Один в поле не воин! На Овечкина играет вся команда, а Панаре приходится самому рояль возить, а не только на нём играть. Защита у Рейнжеров практически отсутствует, центры слабые (Зибанеджад резко сдулся). НЮР молодая команда на вырост, но тренер походу не очень понимает как работать с молодёжью.

Про травму не знал, сори, но все равно таких денег он не стоит, так можно потаить только лидерам, которые тащат вперёд всю команду. Например Ови.

@Analytical Inkling Yeah, I think that's likely to result, just saying it's not yet irreversible--they still have time to fix it. But I doubt they will, even though they have a golden opportunity to sell veterans and get the young guys that chemistry and experience.

@Closet Hockey Fan No dude. Quinn is every bit as bad as Hynes. They both shuffle the lines constantly and suppress the youth with bad chemistry and barely any minutes. If you don't fire him soon, Kakko and Laf will become busts, when they have the talent and potential to be franchise players. It's so agitating watching Laf and Kakko underachieve this badly because they're so much better than this.

I will never understand why NJD insisted on allowing Shero and his cronies from PIT to chase the shadows of 2009 for so long. I don't think Quinn has proven quite that bad just yet, but there's still plenty of time.

@Tristan Cooper I mean look at Hughes last yr compared to this year. Its not just the grind of playing the best players in the world every night. Try being 18 in an adults world with money. distractions. opportunity... etc. Its not just the game they sometimes need to get adjusted too; not to mention chemistry with teammates. Celebrate the fact your best talent is below 20 and be patient.

People just assume a 1st overall pick has to be a star and make a big instant impact. Thats not how it always work. Hes only 18 with a ton of pressure being the #1 pick and learning how to play in the nhl. Hughes was a so called "bust" and look at him now on a team with very little star power..

As a Devils fan I say give it time. Hughes wasn't so hot last year, but definitely stepped up this year. Bad coaching doesn't help either.

Keep in mind he had like no training camp and games against other teams and the rangers are a hot mess right now.

@Tristan Cooper The thing is this whole thread started with the debate about age and how you can’t call someone “too young” a bum. Chytil and Kakko received significant playing time before turning 20, but did anyone else on your list get that too? (Honest question)

@Hieskanen I disagree, Johnny Mac was given the team with 11 rookies in the lineup on day 1 of the season when they gave them the chance, he even stated to management that he wasn't ready and was still developing his talent as a coach, had they not rushed him and given him a better starting roster (not 11 players that never played an nhl game before) I think he would have developed into a great long time coach for the devils

@Victor Girdwood not a good idea. He’d put Merkley and wood on the first line with Hughes and bratt and gusev on the 3rd line lol. He has awful player management. I like lindys system that he has which is built on trust in the younger players and allowing them to make mistakes once in a while without burying them on the 4th line or benching them. That’s exactly what you need right now with this young devils team. They’re gonna make mistakes, just how it goes.

@Tyler Huebler yeah Merkley is decent at times. He had a turnover that resulted in a goal against the rangers but made up for it with a goal later that game. Kinda inconsistent but he is usable and can contribute once in a while when the better players aren’t.

@Tyler Huebler the mistake the devils made with their rebuild was putting Johnny Mac behind the bench too early, guy has all the potential in the world to be an all star coach, but was fed to the wolves, if they bring him back and give him a shot now that the team has a little experience I think he'd be an amazing fit.

@Hieskanen I like merkleys game he isnt going anywhere. Maltsev has good hands and positioning but his skating isnt at nhl level. I agree with the other two..
